Which Audience to Love, the Sociable or the Loyal?

Starting a blog takes a lot of guts. While you finally decide to expose yourself in the cyber world wherein you hardly know anyone personally, you also struggle with the idea whether you’d have anyone reading you at all. However, directing your content to a particular group of readers helps in keeping a steady traffic, but what about the other potential readers that you might gain?

There are many account users who contribute to traffic but the lot consisting of social butterflies is hardly ever helpful in giving you feedback and insight regarding your blogs. They read but they’re not really interested and this shows from the absence of comment or of a mere click on one of your ads. After all, they’re only interested in expanding their contacts and groups list.

So what do you do to maintain both traffic and readership? Take note of your regular visitors who actually read and comment on your blogs. Know them well by finding out which of your posts attract them most. As such, continue writing these kinds of posts, along with some topics and ideas that are of your interest, which you think can be relatable to your readers’ interests. Don’t write topics that came from ideas that you never, ever think about, much more those topics that easily capture the social crowd just so you’d have a high traffic. If some your ideas just really can’t gain you comments, let them be. Later on, when your readers get used to your peculiar thinking, they’d soon come out of their shell and have the guts to say something. One tip is to always respect your readers’ comments. In one way or another, there’d always be learning and exchange of intellectual bits.
