How to get Windows Vista Service Pack 1
Introducing the Windows Vista SP1 Beta which is available only for select beta testers. But you can get it directly from Microsoft, by using a simple Registry Hack to make Windows Update download the necessary files and updates for you to be able to get Vista SP1.
Hack Attack to get Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Warning : Proceed at your own risk… This is the Windows Vista SP1 Beta Update. And it may or may not ruin your Computer with the Update.
Here’s how to get it… Fire up your notepad, Copy these following series of codes :

echo Vista SP1 registry key has been set. Please check for updates in Windows Update.

Now Save this file as SP1beta.cmd and save it anywhere you like and can easily remember. After saving the files, navigate to where you saved the files and Run it…
If you’re UAC is Enabled… Right-Click on the file… and select ‘Run as Administrator’
If you’re UAC is Disabled… Just Double-Click and run it like a normal Application.
If you want to Disable your UAC click here to Disable the UAC
Now for the Fun part…
Go to Windows Update
- Click on the Start menu, on the Search Box type WINDOWS UPDATE, hit Enter
- Click ‘Check for Updates’, and after a minute you should get a new update, KB935509. Install the update, and allow the computer to restart When it’s Done with the installation
- After logging back in go to Windows Update again and and the new update should be update KB937287 but if it’s not there click on ‘Check for Updates’ yet again Install the update, and allow the computer to restart When it’s Done with the installation
- After logging back in (for the third time) go to Windows Update again and and the new update should be update KB938371 but if it’s not there click on ‘Check for Updates’ yet again Install the update, and allow the computer to restart When it’s Done with the installation.
- After logging back in (for the fourth time) the moment we’ve all been waiting for… go to Windows Update again and click on ‘Check for Updates’ and the new update should be Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Beta but if it’s not there click on ‘check for Updates yet again Install the update, and allow the computer to restart When it’s Done with the installation.
- Finally Install the Update and enjoy…

Now if you still want to proceed and have just finished the installation of the Update… You may see a watermark at the bottom right corner of your Desktop saying ‘Evaluation copy, Build 6001?. Don’t fret there’s a fix for it.
